I had never seen the “Northern Lights” in my entire life. But in the past six months, I have been able to witness them on four different occasions! Looking up into the vast sky and truly seeing God’s handiwork is overwhelming. It is in those moments when I recognize how great our God is. That He would paint such a pretty picture in the sky is such an incredible reminder of how powerful and loving He is. I stand in awe of our great God!
SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”
During a nearly ten-year stretch in my life, my wife and I along with many brothers and sisters in Christ started a Christian camp and retreat center from the ground up. One of the most memorable things we did was host 4-day retreats for couples in ministry—creating a space for refreshment where they could let their hair down, leave their ministries behind, and reconnect with each other and the Lord. Blessing those in full-time ministry did so much for my heart!
SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”
My wife and I found ourselves down to the last $7.00 (yes, seven dollars!) for the ministry we had started. We prayed and asked God to make Himself known. Later that day, we went to the mailbox to find a check for $10,000 from some friends on the west coast. The world would say that it was out of the blue. But as a believer in a God who is all-knowing, and all-loving, we firmly believe God is truly in control and that He will never leave us nor forsake us!
SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”
It is absolutely staggering to read about the number of children who have lost their lives through the years because of abortion. My heart aches for them and for the parents and families of these precious children. I know that it pains the heart of God as well. When Roe vs. Wade was overturned, my heart was filled with gratitude. While that doesn’t stop one hundred percent of the abortions, it is heading in the right direction, and I rejoice in knowing that.
