I can still imagine the scene visiting Victoria Falls on the Zambezi river in Africa. The roar of the falls. The power of the water. The depth of the canyon. And the mist on my skin. All senses that caused a great awe for the beauty, history, depth and power of God’s creation. My heart was filled with awe and wonder.

SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”

I felt alive with purpose and meaning and in the center of God’s will as we celebrated the marriage of each of our children to fellow Christians. Over time, we realized that we were not losing a child, but rather we were gaining another child. And we had an opportunity to anticipate and pray for the future family that God may bless them with.

SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”

God took our fourth child even before he was born. This loss put my wife and I into a place we had not been before, faced with unanswerable questions. With the help of a wise father and his spiritual counsel, plus the power of the Holy Spirit, our hearts were awakened to God’s perfect plan and his provision for us, even in the valley of the shadow of death.

SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”

Wonderful Christian friends broke fellowship with us over a spiritual matter. We sought reconciliation - but with no resolve. God made us wait several years for complete forgiveness, deliverance and a fully restored and stronger friendship. This was only possible because we rebuilt the relationship on the truth of scriptures.

SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
