My brother and I went to high school in Germany’s Black Forest—an area known for its beauty and, sadly, for its witchcraft. One night, my friends and I camped on the tower of a ruined castle deep in those dark woods. We watched in awe as a stream of shooting stars lit the sky. After dozing off, we were startled awake by my brother and friends. They’d heard reports of witches and came to check on us, baseball bats in hand. What a great reminder of God’s overwhelming power—holding stars and star gazers alike.

SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”

Over 400 students piled into the gym for a revival rally at lunch. Jared and DJ, seniors at that high school, boldly proclaimed the gospel. Students were mesmerized. You could have heard a pin drop. The response was overwhelming—not only that day but all year. The valedictorian testified to meeting Jesus that year in front of 10,000 people at graduation. We thought, “If God can do this here, why can’t this happen at every high school in America?” Students have been filling gymnasiums for revival meetings across the country ever since.

SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”

I’m sorry, the NFL player said, “I won’t be able to speak at your outreach today after all.” The Christian club had invited the whole school to hear him. Sadly, those students shuffled into the office to cancel. “I have a friend visiting who plays in the NFL,” the secretary said. “Want me to call him?” “Uh…is he a Christian?” the students asked. “Sure is! He even leads the Bible study for his team.” “Ok, can he be here inan hour?” And so, students heard the gospel from an NFL player—just as promised.

SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”

Jenna* had gone down the transgender road and was hospitalized five times in middle school, sometimes for months. After hearing a peer share his testimony at a student-led outreach, she gave her life to Christ. Her parents cried when she said they could call her by her real name again. When friends asked why she had so much joy, she said it was because of Jesus. When teachers asked her preferred pronouns, she said to use the ones God gave her. She’s now helping lead the Christian group on campus.

SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
