I competed in a major soccer tournament with a $10,000 prize. Though only 14, my coach saw potential and added me to the 18+ team. We led 1-0 in the semifinals with 10 minutes left. I committed a foul in the box, the opposing team tied the game, and we lost in overtime. I felt crushed—until our captain took the blame and encouraged me. He reminded me of Jesus—bearing my shame and giving grace. In Dan, I saw Christ’s love, and my heart was filled with praise to God.
SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”
My girlfriend told me she was pregnant. I felt fear and embarrassment, knowing my hidden lifestyle would be exposed. In our culture, a child before marriage brings shame. My parents arranged a small wedding. It wasn’t how I planned to marry—I dreamed of a beach wedding—but God had other plans. I didn’t understand then, but now I see how He used it to grow us and draw us and our family closer to Him. What felt like punishment was actually His will shaping us for the better! Even though it looked different than we expected.
SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”
My contract ended unexpectedly after I’d just started a family and planned to buy a car and home. Despite growing sushi department sales, a corporate decision led to my job loss. I felt hopeless, but prayed for guidance. A new sushi company offered me a job, and I worked at a friend’s restaurant to gain skills. Eight months later, I secured a contract with the new company. That setback strengthened my faith and proved God’s plan is always better.
SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”
In my area, over 500 Falam (Burma) believers faced division due to internal conflicts, disagreements, and differing leadership ambitions. Some sought higher positions, others disagreed over worship styles. Our community split twice, forming four churches. I struggled to understand why we couldn’t unite. But as I began reading God’s Word daily, my burden lifted. I found peace and clarity. The problem wasn’t just the church—it was my perspective. True light and peace comes from being rooted in God’s Word.
SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
