The majesty of our Lord is present all around us, but sometimes we don’t see it. This was not the case on a recent National Parks vacation. The colors in the rock layers, the smells in the forests, and the beauty of archeological formations left my mind mesmerized. A natural waterfall cascading over a boulder plummeting to a creek bed below. I am so thankful for opportunities to just be still and let the awe and wonder of our God surround me. God put all that beauty in place!

SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”

I find real purpose in counseling, teaching, and encouraging people amidst the brokenness in their lives. Our ministry began as a food pantry, but it has launched into so much more. It reminds me of the Bible story where Mordecai told Esther that perhaps God put her in her position for just the right time - now. God has work for us to do now. And we get to choose to get involved or sit back on the sidelines. God chose us to be a part of His work. That excites me! God chose me!

SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”

One summer it was obvious we were not going to make payroll. As the leader, I felt horrible. Then the phone rang. I answered the phone to hear the voice of a past donor who called to tell me her mom died. After about 40 minutes of listening, this person said “Well, the real reason I called was that mom left some money for you and I need to know your address so I can send it to you.” God is so gracious and faithful. He has never let us down.

SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”

Our ministry served a man who lost everything – his job, his wife, his kids, his sisters, and his friends. This man thought he had tried everything. Upon hearing his story, I said he hadn’t tried everything – he had not tried God. The man broke down and said he was too far gone for God to help. The short story is the man did try God. He found peace and restoration. He gave up alcohol. And God gave him back his kids, sisters, and friends. And now this man even gets to play with his grandkids!

SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
