I have had multiple moments of awe and wonder when I have chosen to slow down, reflect, and give the Lord room. When I give Him room and have an open posture, He has spoken and revealed things in me. What He is doing. And to simply remind me how He is with me. That He loves and cares for me. It simply has been positively overwhelming in a most intimate way.

SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”

A few months ago, I was going through a phase of disappointment with church and what I was seeing culturally. The world was turned upside down, and I needed to know what God desired of me—my place and my focus. He spoke clearly three times in a week. One was through reading the word, and a scripture popped out—the Lord telling Peter to feed His sheep. The second was a dream reaffirming it. I asked my wife what she thought, and she agreed I needed to go harder into teaching and discipling people in our small group.

SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”

My last employer was changing, bringing in leaders who ignored the culture and imposed “their way.” This created pressure on me with greater demands and blame. I was treated poorly, ignored, and felt the weight of it. For three years, I endured distortions and lies. No companies were hiring for my work, so my only option was going out on my own—scary, but through prayer, the Lord showed me it was like going all-in on a poker hand. My bet was on Jesus. I stepped out, and He has been faithful with work and income ever since.

SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”

My parents divorced and my father disappeared for 15 years. Reconnecting at 29 after last seeing him when I was 14 brought angst, fear, and every emotion. In that meeting, questions were asked, perspectives shared, and more details revealed. I had to choose between bitterness or growth. The choice was to get better—with grace and forgiveness, as God brings reconciliation. So, I chose to honor my father and rebuild some semblance of a relationship.

SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
