Eric
I didn’t have enough money to cover my monthly expenses, tuition fees, and research project. But miraculously, I finished my studies and today I am called “Doctor” Eric. I could write a book about the journey of from Rwanda and how God has been faithful to me. The journey was not easy. But then one day I was officially told that I was awarded a PhD degree after defending my thesis. This day reminded me how great God is. And how God has been with me on my journey from Rwanda and throughout my studies.
SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”
Back home in Rwanda, there was a student who came from a very poor family. A course exam had been scheduled, but he didn’t have the exam fee. The student wondered if there was anybody who could help, and I came into his mind. He came to me and explained to me the issue. And I agreed to pay the fee for him. There are many who are currently facing these concerns like this. And God uses people to be a source of support. I consider serving people like this very important to me!
SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”
I was poisoned by one of our close family members and was close to death. The doctors said that I have to go home and wait for death. They couldn’t do anything more for me. My father conveyed this news to my aunt. She told my father that he should bring me to her. She knew a lady who used things from nature to treat sick people. My father took me to my Aunt’s place. By God’s grace, after two months, I was healed and was able to safely return home. God rebuilt my hope and my life.
SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”
One million people died in one hundred days in Rwanda in 1994. And those who died were from my tribe – the Tutsi minority tribe. Now the government is trying to bring unity and reconciliation among Rwandans through a program called “I am Rwandan.” The program aims to strengthen unity and reconciliation among Rwandans by providing a forum for people to talk about the causes and consequences of the genocide. It also promotes the idea that our identity should be Rwandan – not the Hutu or Tutsi tribes.
”SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
