The moment my son was born and first grabbed my hand was surreal. It was a moment of adrenaline - observing my wife in surgery. Doctors moving swiftly to bring my son into this world. I remember praying to God for protection as my wife had to make hard decisions regarding the birth process. In the end It was a moment of gratitude to God for such a priceless gift!

SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”

I’ve taught video classes to teens for the past 8 years. The first year, I worked at a community media center. An education director there was diagnosed with a life-changing disease. It was devastating for me to see her experience that, because she had inspired me to become a videographer when I was a youth. I was asked to help her lead classes. Middle schoolers really began to see their purpose and belonging. During that season, God allowed me to pray with my Education Director. And for us to be a light for the youth together.

SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”

I had fallen behind on my car payments – and my car was taken. I felt irresponsible and vulnerable. I felt hopeless and overwhelmed with all the new changes of being a father and husband. In less than 2 weeks, God had created a way to pay the balance due and more. The most significant part about that time was my willingness to intentionally pray to God through all of it. And trust that He was big enough to respond to my need. And that He is sovereign - however He sees fit to respond.

SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”

My dad had been absent from my life for 20 years. Then something amazing happened. My uncle, a surgeon, had a patient who had been shot - with my same first and last name, similar appearance, and (almost) the same birthdate! My uncle reached out to my family to confirm whether it was me that had been killed. That began a process of change with my family and my father. And it is a testament to God’s vision for reconciliation – to one another and to our Lord and Savior.

SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
